Our Story
About 5 Roles
5 Roles Clothing supplies premium blanks — t-shirts, hoodies, matching sets and uniform — and decorates them using DTF (direct-to-film) transfer printing and embroidery. Every order, from a single piece to a full trade programme, moves through the same process: brief, quote, sample, approval, production. The sample is not a nicety — it is the step that makes every other step accountable.
What We Do
Premium blanks, built to be decorated
The blank is not a commodity we treat as a substrate. It is the product the customer wears, washes and reaches for again. We select for construction that holds its shape and surface quality that takes decoration well — because a print or an embroidered logo that starts to look tired after ten washes reflects on the brand wearing it.
DTF printing and embroidery
DTF transfers a full-colour film directly onto the fabric — fine detail, gradients and photography-quality images all transfer cleanly. Embroidery stitches the design in; the result is tactile, hard-wearing and carries a different weight on the garment than print. Both methods have their cases. The right choice depends on the artwork, the garment and how the piece will be used. We advise on this during the quoting stage rather than assuming one method fits every job.
Retail and trade, from the same factory
A new brand ordering a dozen tees for a first drop gets the same garments and the same decoration as a trade client ordering a full uniform programme. The process is the same; only the volume and the pricing structure change. We do not reserve quality for large orders — a small run is still someone’s brand.
How We Work
The project portal, and why every order lives in one
Each order begins as a project in the client portal. Files, size breakdowns, revision notes and approvals all sit in one place rather than across email threads. When the sample is ready, the notification goes through the portal. When you approve, that approval is recorded. When the job moves to production, the status updates without anyone having to chase.
That structure exists because a garment order has moving parts — artwork, sizes, sampling, timing — and tracking them across email creates errors. The portal does not remove the conversation; it gives the conversation a place to live so nothing is lost when it matters.
Sustainability
What we can and cannot claim
We are not going to claim certifications we do not hold or make environmental commitments we cannot evidence. That kind of language is everywhere in clothing, and it is not useful. Here is what we can say with confidence.
Made to order means fewer wasted runs
We do not hold speculative finished stock. Every decorated garment is produced against a confirmed order. That is commercially normal for a decoration business, but it also means we are not producing garments that sit in a warehouse and eventually get discounted or destroyed. Overproduction is the largest source of waste in clothing manufacturing; we are structurally absent from that problem, even if we cannot claim it as a designed virtue.
Sampling before production catches mistakes early
Every order is sampled before the production run. A sample that reveals a problem is one production run that does not happen — and one batch of garments that is not decorated, rejected and disposed of. This is the right process for quality reasons; it is also the right process for waste reasons.
Blanks chosen to last
We select blanks partly on construction quality — weight, stitch density, surface stability — because a garment that holds its shape and takes decoration well is one a customer wears for longer. Longevity is not a sustainability programme. It is the result of not cutting corners on the base product.
What we are still working on
We have not yet achieved formal certification for our supply chain, and we are not in a position to make claims about the environmental footprint of the blanks we source — those claims would require data from our suppliers that we are in the process of gathering. We will update this section when we can say something specific and verifiable. Broad language like “sustainably sourced” in its place would be greenwashing, and we are not willing to do that.
Careers
No open roles listed right now
We do not have open positions to advertise at the moment. When we do, we will list them here.
If you would like to register an interest in working with us — production, design, client management or anything else — you are welcome to send a brief introduction and what you do to the general inbox. We read everything, and when a relevant role opens we reach back out to people who have already made contact.
